Choroidal nevus is the most common intraocular tumor. Its prevalence among Caucasians is 4-7%. The average age of tumor appearance is 60 years, with more frequent involvement of the female sex. Although benign, choroidal nevus carries the risk of transformation into malignant melanoma, which is why it is necessary to distinguish between the two diseases and to know the risk factors for malignancy.
