DCC „Sofiyamed“ – obstetrician-gynecologist and fetal morphology specialist
Fetal macrosomia is a common condition characterized by increased fetal weight relative to gestational age, and is associated with a number of risks for the mother and the newborn. The main etiological factors are gestational diabetes, insulin resistance, overweight and excessive weight gain during pregnancy. Early identification of risk groups, regular laboratory and ultrasound control, as well as the implementation of an individualized approach to follow-up and delivery, are of key importance for the prevention of complications. A balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are essential components in the prevention of macrosomia and contribute to a favorable outcome of pregnancy.
