The term late preterm infants, born between 34 and 37 weeks of gestation, has become established in the last 10 years, as they constitute 74% of all premature infants. This group of premature infants is distinguished by specific morbidity and mortality, as well as short- and long-term complications. Very often, births in this gestational period are defined as medically indicated births when there are categorical indications from the mother or fetus.
Ensuring long-term monitoring according to a protocol of the motor and psychoemotional development of premature infants and, if necessary, conducting specific immunoprophylaxis will lead to the achievement of optimal health status and a better quality of life for children and their families.
