The topic of vision in childhood is important topical and multifaceted. It is constantly being studied and upgraded by ophthalmologists. Neonatologists, pediatricians, general practitioners, pedagogues, psychologists, researchers, social workers, parents, and the public are also reasonably interested in it.
The article discusses the peculiarities of the natural development of vision, as well as the factors that adversely affect it in the most fragile and vulnerable early childhood – preverbal. Attention is paid to the visible without special optics congenital eye manifestations in the process of natural growth of the child, which will help the general practitioner to timely refer children with such findings to an ophthalmologist in order to promote eye health.
