Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a complex multi-organ disease with a multifaceted clinical presentation that can obstruct the timely diagnosis. Early diagnosis through neonatal screening of CF has been shown to be associated with improved nutritional status and child growth, improved mental development (vitamin E) and improved lung function. Garce to the progress of medicine and the introduction of modern medications, the timely diagnosis of these children becomes even more important.
