Reshkova, V., Nestorova, R.

Problems of the musculoskeletal system (traumatic, degenerative) and neuralgia are common pathologies in the doctor‘s office. A successful preparation for the treatment of skeletal-muscular-neuralgic injuries must have certain qualities – to act pathogenetically, locally, to have a tropism towards the damaged structures, to act on the surrounding structures and intra-articularly. GUNA-MDs injectable collagen is believed to possess these qualities.
A clinical observation was carried out at the Rheumatology Clinic, St. Ivan Rilski“, Sofia and MC „St. Irina“, Sofia with intra-articular injection of collagen. An 8-week course of treatment with intra-articular administration of GUNA MDs KNEE + GUNA MDs MUSCLE was performed in 30 patients with stage II gonarthrosis without edema. Patients were followed up before and at the end of treatment, and 30 days after completion of treatment. Questionnaires were used to assess the change in pain and the Lequesne functional index, completed by patients before and at the end of treatment. The results show that the intra-articular administration of GUNA-MDs in gonarthrosis significantly affected the pain at rest, the pain on movement and the functional activity of the patient. No side effects were observed when using GUNA MD.
Key words: collagen, GUNA MDs, osteoarthritis
