Cardiovascular manifestations associated with systemic connective tissue diseases (SCTDs) are diverse and vary in intensity and frequency. They may include cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, endomyopericarditis, congestive heart failure, cardiac tamponade, and valvular damage. SCTDs include systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, antiphospholipid syndrome, autoimmune myositis, and systemic vasculitis. The clinical course is severe and requires a rapid and appropriate therapeutic regimen. Treatment involves methylprednisolone and immunosuppressants; antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, and intravenous immunoglobulin are administered when necessary.
