Treatment of hemorrhoids – options for a combined solution

G. Ispirska – gastroenterologist, hematologist,
MBAL “Princess Clementina” – Sofia

Hemorrhoids are a common reason for seeing a doctor. According to some statistics, this is approximately 3.5 million views per year (1). Hemorrhoids represent a distal prolapse of the arteriovenous bundle, muscle fibers, and surrounding connective tissue as a sheath below the dentate line of the anal canal. They usually present with painless rectal bleeding (2). Hemorrhoids are external and internal. Internal hemorrhoids are classified according to degrees of severity from I to IV. Diagnosis is made primarily through a thorough history and physical examination. It is important that all elements of the history and physical examination are further investigated in order to exclude oncological processes, thrombosis of external hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal abscess and Crohn‘s disease (6), (7). In general, the treatment approach can be grouped into three categories – conservative, outpatient and surgical. Conservative methods are present in the treatment of all forms and degrees of severity of hemorrhoids. A possible combined treatment for hemorrhoids is the application of Imunobor Biotic, Doloproct, GiGira Activ Spray and Entan as representatives of the groups respectively fibers, local analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents and systemic phlebotonics. The individual approach and the introduction of local natural anti-inflammatory products and natural systemic phlebotonics expand the possibilities for long-term use with a high safety profile.
