Application of Ocolut Combi in diabetic retinopathy and ocular vascular accidents – personal experience

Ocolut Combi при диабетна ретинопатия

Issue 6/2022

М. Radeva, A. Raichev – Razgrad

One of the main causes of blindness in people of working age is diabetic retinopathy (1-3). It is estimated that by 2045 the number of diabetics will increase to 10.9% of the world’s population (2). According to international statistics, 45.8% of people have undiagnosed diabetes and the disease manifests itself with complications (4). These facts raise the question of early non-invasive eye health prevention in newly diagnosed diabetics. In order to cover possible undiagnosed patients with diabetes, it is good to start eye prophylaxis after the age of 40. For early prevention of eye health, natural pigments and antioxidants with a proven effect in ophthalmology are recommended. One such product is Ocolut Combi VGcaps. The ingredients of Ocolut Combi VGcaps are astaxanthin, proanthocyanidin, lutein and zeaxanthin, which have a scientifically proven effect. In addition, they have a mutually potentiating effect. We observed 10 patients with diabetic retinopathy and 6 with v thrombosis. centralis retinae. In both groups of patients after 12 weeks there was an improvement in visual acuity 2-4 rows of the visual table. As a conclusion of the observation, it was necessary to include Entan VGcaps in patients with diabetic retinopathy for maximum resorption of hemorrhages.
