Introduction: Mooren’s ulcer is characterized by painful peripheral corneal ulceration of unknown etiology. Destruction of the cornea results in disappearance of corneal transparency. The diagnosis of Mooren‘s ulcer requires the absence of any ocular infection or systemic rheumatologicaldiseases . The initial treatment of Mooren’s ulcer consists mainly of topical corticosteroids, and then surgical interventions. Clinical case: We present 44y.o.male with bilateral Mooren’s ulcer. He was treated with Hydrocortison drops, antibiotics, collagenase inhibitors, topical cyclosporine A. We used amniotic membrane as surgical treatment for his right eye. The irritation and the blepharospasm disappeared completely but not the ulcer. Conclusion: Mooren’s ulcer is rare diagnose in our practice. But it is often part of the differencial diagnosis of corneal ulcers.

Key words: corneal ulceration, corneal neovascularisation, treatment with amniotic membrain
