Obesity and metabolic syndrome have emerged as two of the most significant public health problems of the 21st century. Obesity is a chronic, recurrent, and progressive disease characterized by excessive accumulation of adipose tissue. Globally, more than 900 million people are affected, and a parallel increase in obesity-related comorbidities has been observed, leading to substantial health and socioeconomic consequences. Therefore, prevention and timely management are of paramount importance.
This report presents the results of our study investigating the effects of the Apitherapy on anthropometric parameters, lipid profile, and systemic arterial blood pressure in patients with obesity and metabolic syndrome.
Key words: propolis, obesity, metabolic syndrome.
