The frenulums (or frenum) in the oral cavity is a narrow band of mucosa, muscle bundles and connective tissue that runs in a thin line between the lips and gums periosteum and underside of the tongue to the bottom of the mouth behind the teeth. Most of the time the ENT specialists, pediatricians, GP specialists and the dental care specialists are not paying enough attention to the frenulums, to their structure and attachment, despite in some cases it can be a sign of a syndrome. (1) The paper is revealing the main oral frenulum attachments and the pathological signs linked to them as well the treatment.
