Borizanova, A., Kinova, E., Gudev, A.
Clinic of Cardiology, Tsaritsa Yoanna-ISUL University Hospital, Sofia Department of Emergency Medicine, Sofia Medical University

Atrial cardiomyopathy is a disease of significant clinical importance due to its wide range of complications. It is part of the continuum of atrial disease. Currently there is no consensus defining the criteria for its diagnosis. Various algorithms are available, including clinical-laboratory, electrophysiological, and imaging parameters. From a clinical perspective, an easy and quickly applicable algorithm is necessary for timely diagnosis and treatment of this heterogeneous condition.

Key words: atrial remodelling, atrial cardiomyopathy, atrial failure, atrial functional mitral regurgitation
