Cardiomyopathies are a heterogeneous group of diseases. The pathogenetic mechanism is myocardial damage due to genetic mutations as leading causes for heart failure, sudden cardiac death, and life-threatening arrhythmias. The main types of cardiomyopathies are hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilative cardiomyopathy, restrictive cardiomyopathy, left ventricle non-compaction, and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy. The hypertophic cardiomyopathy is the main subject to be discussed in this article. The prognosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is mainly dependent on factors associated with malign prognosis and the time of their diagnosing. This type of cardiomyopathy as a leading cause for death is based on its late diagnosing and delayed initial treatment.
