Reconstructive surgery of the aortic valve is a highly specialized surgical intervention that is performed by few surgeons, mostly with great experience, because a very precise geometric and anatomical judgment is required to achieve an optimal lasting result. Valve-sparing surgeries have excellent long-term results, over 20 years of aortic valve stability. According to the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, aortic valve reconstruction is a completely feasible alternative to aortic valve replacement.
