Legal and clinica aspects of transplantation in ophthalmology

отGP News публикувано на 25.07.2024 Ophtalmology
трансплантацията в офталмологията

Issue 6/2024

Grupcheva, L., Grupchev, D.
University Specialized Eye Hospital for Active Treatment
Medical University “Prof. Dr paraskev Stoyanov” – Varna

Transplantation in ophthalmology is very interesting from many points of view: legal, clinical ethical, scientific. Today regenerative medicine demonstrates rapid development and the legal regulations are somehow not sound with the new concepts. At the moment there are “empty spaces” in the law, and they increase because of the rapid scientific development and translation into the practice. Tis paper is dedicated to the problem and highlights the points where law should be reconsidered in order to facilitate the newest developments.

Key words: transplantation, keratoplasty, amniotic membrane, ocular surface, cornea, law for transplantation
