We present a clinical case and short review on the topic“arterial retinal occlusion“. Retinal arterial occlusion is an emergency condition in ophthalmology. There is possibility of improvement of the vision only in the first few hours of the accident. Treatment in the following hours does not lead to improvement of vision. One of the most common symptoms of a transient ischemic attack is sudden loss of vision in one eye or blurred vision with a short duration (10-20 seconds). Recognizing these symptoms is of paramount importance in order to detect high-risk conditions for development of permanent ischemic lesions, both in the retina and in the brain (stroke) and heart (infarction).
Key words: retinal arterial occlusion, emergency condition, embolism, high-risk condition.
