Chronic tonsillitis in childhood

Хроничен тонзилит в детската възраст

Often repeated sore throats in children raise doubts about the presence of chronic tonsillitis. It is accepted that having up to three tonsillitis in one year is not a deviation from the norm. The tendency to frequent illnesses may be related to a violation of the immune system, the local protection of the tonsils, unhygienic living conditions. In chronic tonsillitis, it is considered that there is more infection of the tonsils than normal. Chronic tonsillitis is manifested by recurrent frequent acute tonsillitis. The only sure treatment for chronic tonsillitis is tonsillectomy – removal of the palatine tonsils by dissection.
