Polyps of the urethra are the most common benign neoplasms of the urinary tract found in women, which are able to significantly affect the mental and emotional state of patients, worsening the quality of life.
Although, until now, urethral polyps could be easily treated by surgery, in some cases, they show a tendency to recur. The reasons for this are that the very nature of these anatomical structures are not well studied. A number of studies have shown that a large proportion of polyp studies are not benign in nature, but are the result of focal epithelial proliferation disorders due to unclear impaired homeostatic mesenchymal-epithelial interactions. In this regard, about the appearance of urethral polyps, we also talk about possible prerequisites for their occurrence. In a study of ours, we aimed to elucidate the role of various factors underlying urethral polyps. In this study, it was of great importance to us to achieve an integrated behavioral approach with parallel analysis of a wide range of parameters. We believe that this can contribute not only to understanding the nature of polyp formation, but also to determine the choice of optimal treatment tactics.
