Issue 8/2024

Durmishev, L.
Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Medical University – Sofia

Nowadays, a number of immune and inflammatory dermatoses have been successfully treated with drugs that selectively block mediators of the immune response, such as cytokines, interleukins and tyrosine kinases. Janus kinases play an important role in the cascades of the inflammatory process and their selective blockers are under investigation or already used in the treatment of many diseases, such as atopic dermatitis, Alopecia areata, Dermatomyositis, Hidradenitis suppurativa, Lupus erythematosus, Psoriasis vulgaris, Hidradenitis suppurativa, Vitiligo and others. The aim of this review is to present the indications, efficacy and safety profile of Janus kinase blockers in dermatological practice.

Key words: JAK, indications for use, effectiveness, safety profile
