Dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis are chronic recurring diseases of the scalp and areas with sebaceous glands on the body. Although the above diseases are not life-threatening, they have severe social and psychological impacts on sufferers (4, 5). The pathogenesis of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis reflects four main aspects – increased sebum production, microbial infiltration with Malassezia and inflammation, imbalance in the microbiome of the scalp and seborrheic areas of the body, and a disrupted epidermal barrier. In each stage of the pathogenesis of the considered diseases, the immune status of the macroorganism is also present. Therefore, the therapeutic need is based on several requirements – a powerful antimycotic action without the risk of resistance, an anti-inflammatory action without the risk of breaking through the epidermal barrier, a quick effect on the symptoms of itching, flaking and inflammation, a rebalance in the microbiome of the scalp and seborrhoeic areas, a long contact time and high safety profile with long-term use. A suitable therapeutic solution is GinGira Seborex Spray (Borola Ltd). GinGira Seborex Spray acts as an anti-seborrheic, keratolytic, anti-mycotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, rebalances the microbiome and restores the epidermal barrier. GinGira Seborex Spray is more effective than the well-known Zinc pyrithione. It affects all pathogenetic aspects of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
