Clinical social work in oncology is a specialized field that provides emotional, social and practical support to patients with oncological diseases and their families. In Bulgaria, this approach is not yet fully integrated into the healthcare system, as there are no regulatory regulations and sufficiently qualified specialists. The article examines the key role of the social worker in providing psychosocial support, informing patients about their rights, coordinating care and providing assistance with administrative and practical issues. The development of this profession in Bulgaria requires regulations, expanding educational programs and including social workers in multidisciplinary teams. Clinical social work in oncology has the potential to become a fundamental element of comprehensive healthcare, providing support and hope in the most difficult moments.
