Allergic conjunctivitis is one of the most common eye diseases in clinical practice. It affects 10-40% of the world‘s population, with its frequency increasing in recent decades. According to data from the World Health Organization, more than 15 million people worldwide suffer from allergic rhinoconjunctivitis. Despite its widespread prevalence, many affected individuals do not seek medical attention, resulting in underdiagnosis and undertreatment. In order to improve the quality of life of the affected individuals, early recognition and proper treatment of allergic conjunctivitis is very important, which is only possible with good cooperation between a personal physician, an ophthalmologist and an allergist.
