Introdution: Ultrasound biomicoscopy (UBM) is a non-invasive method, who allows in vivo imaging of the configuration of the anterior ocular segmnt and structural details in the relationship between the iris and the ciliary body. Methods: We present several patients diagnosed and followed in our clinic using ABSolu/Quantel Medical. The UBM technology(50 MHz) enables visualization the anterior ocular segment, including structures behind the iris and the posterior lens capsule, which cannot be visualized with other technologies.
Conclusion: The introduction of ultrasound biomicroscopy into clinical pracice has led to a revolutionary advancment in the assessment of the structures of the anterior segment of the eye.
