Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. The disease occurs in most cases asymptomatically and is diagnosed during an eye examination most often for another reason. The main therapeutic goal is to lower intraocular pressure using topical antiglaucoma medications. Glaucoma is chronic in nature and requires daily administration of antiglaucoma medications, which leads to a change in the lifestyle of patients. Unfortunately, in most cases, patients discontinue their antiglaucoma therapy for various reasons, such as: lack of symptoms, complex therapeutic regimens, side effects, financial reasons, etc. The general practitioner has a key role in the early identification of compliance problems. He is in close contact with his patients and their relatives.
