Novakova, P., Staevska, M.
Clinic of Clinical Allergology, Aleksandrovska hospital, Sofia, Medical University – Sofia

Bronchial asthma is heterogeneous disease characterized by chronic airway inflamation. It is defined by history of respiratory symptoms (dyspnea, cough, chest tightness, and shortness of breath) that vary over time and in intensity, as well as variable expiratory airflow limitation. Asthma affects from 1 to 25% of the population in different countries and it is one of the most common chronic delays with an increasing prevalence. Making the diagnosis of asthma is of great importance because patients will therefore receive proper treatment. Defining different asthma phenotypes- so called precision medicine, is being more widely used by health care specialists.

Key words: bronchial asthma, diagnosis
