In the autumn-winter period, the incidence of infections, mainly respiratory, traditionally increases. A drastic increase in viruses in children has been observed by private doctors in the last week, which is also confirmed by the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, which reports an increase in the epidemic process of acute respiratory diseases. Malaise and high temperature are the characteristic symptoms of flu and the so-called cold. flu-like infection. They seem to look similar. On closer inspection, however, there are differences in the course of action. The child cannot but suffer from ORI. It is important that they are not too frequent and that their course is light and uncomplicated. This is precisely what is included in the tasks of prevention. Among the most important preventive measures aimed at stopping the spread of infection are quarantine, use of personal protective equipment (masks) and proper respiratory etiquette. There are many different viruses circulating at the moment and we have to be careful, especially when gathering a lot of people. To observe personal hygiene – frequent hand washing and disinfection. And to wear a mask indoors.
The medical mask is used to protect others from our infectious agents that are released from the nose and mouth. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children‘s Fund (UNICEF) advise that the approach to mask use should be based on a risk assessment and be part of a comprehensive package of public health measures to prevent and control the spread of certain viral diseases of the respiratory system. Only with joint efforts and strict compliance with all anti-epidemic measures can we be sure that compliance with the rules is important to reduce risks, and everyone‘s personal responsibility is a key factor in preventing the spread of viruses.
