Recently аs a result of declining birth rates and increasing life spans, the geriatric age group is the fastest-growing segment of our society.1  By 2030, that total is projected to increase more than 1 billion, amounting to one out of every eight of the Earth’s inhabitants.
Over time, more older people are surviving to even more advanced ages- the “oldest old” are often people age 85 and over. The geriatric patients have specific medical problems demanding different diagnostic and treatment approach, and because of chronic diseases, they have highest levels of disability that require long-term care. The problems of the pathological conditions ant their treatment of the aging noses are one of the most common in the practice of the GP specialists.
