Throughout human history, numerous pandemics have been recorded, with one of the largest being the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, and the most recent being the COVID-19 pandemic. From a historical perspective, both pandemics have caused both health and socio-economic damage. With the discovery of vaccines and the development of herd immunity, the spread and severity of these diseases are limited, and they evolve into isolated epidemic outbreaks with low morbidity and mortality. We present a clinical case of a patient infected with both influenza virus and COVID-19 at the same time. Infection with both viruses simultaneously leads to a more severe course.
Key words: Influenza A, COVID-19, pandemic, vaccines
