Asthma is a heterogeneous disease that occurs with chronic inflammation of the airways. Asthma symptoms are variable, non-specific, occur in other diseases and can be preceded by various health problems. For this reason, some patients with bronchial asthma remain undiagnosed. At the same time, others who are diagnosed only on the basis of physical examination do not actually have asthma, which proves the need for objective tests. This article summarizes the modern approach to diagnosing the disease.
