Chronic telogen effluvium (TE) is probably the most common reason to consult with a dermatologist for hair loss. With it, the doctor must rule out all causes that may provoke it. As a rule, it is necessary to exclude diffuse alopecia areata or accompanying androgenetic alopecia. It is recommended that the patient receive an explanation of the nature of the disease, its prognosis and this will serve as a basis and be a first step in treatment.
Key words: hair loss, chronic, telogen effluvium, effluvium, baldness, alopecia
