Modern cataract surgery offer postoperative recovery and a low risk of complications. However, there are potential complications that can be vision threatening. One such example is dry eye syndrome. It is a disorder of the tear film of the eye, as a result of reduced production or increased evaporation from the ocular surface. Side effects of cataract surgery on the eye surface can both directly cause and worsen pre-existing dry eye syndrome.
The preoperative preparation algorithm will help surgeons optimize preoperative measurements and improve postoperative outcomes.
