Андрогенна алопеция - лечение

Issue 7/2022

Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Medical Faculty, Medical University – Sofia, Bulgaria

The term alopecia is used for hair loss, regardless of the cause and location. Of all the types of alopecia, androgenic alopecia is the most common one. The leading etiological cause in both sexes is the genetic predisposition in which there is increased expression and sensitivity of androgen receptors on hair follicles in the scalp to androgenic hormones. Androgenic alopecia is often associated with comorbidities such as metabolic syndrome, prostate cancer in men and polycystic ovary syndrome in women. Treatment of androgenic alopecia includes conservative and invasive methods. Conservative treatment focuses on blocking dihydrotestosterone receptors with systemic drugs and improving scalp trophism through topical vasodilators. Invasive treatment includes injection procedures and allotransplantation of hair follicles.
